Metamorphosis for Helmond-Oost
Under the slogan "Helmond-Oost, moving forward together!", Woonpartners, the Municipality of Helmond and Wijkraad Helmond Oost are going to raise the profile of the East district over the next 15 years. To this end, the parties signed an agreement.
During this fifteen-year period, the district will be tackled on many fronts. A total of 500 to 600 new homes will be added at various locations, mainly in the form of high-rise buildings on Deurneseweg. In the Bloemenbuurt, 116 homes will disappear, but will be replaced by 206 new ones. And around the Straakven shopping centre, mainly senior citizens' and care homes will be built. Near a green square, the new heart of the neighbourhood will soon rise there, with a mix of homes, shops and amenities. Read more
