New courtyard garden for Towerstreet

Residents of the apartment complex on Torenstraat, were present to officially open the renovated courtyard garden at 40-44 Torenstraat on Saturday 30 September. A great initiative in cooperation with Woonpartners.
Woonpartners entered into talks with the working group of the residential building. This working group took the initiative and found a young gardener willing to think along. The design was presented to all residents. They were given the opportunity to comment on it. With support from Foundation for the Elderly, funds have been applied for from the Cross Association Helmond subsidy fund. With donations from some other sponsors, they purchased furniture, flower boxes and garden lighting. The garden lighting has also been installed. It has become a combination of ambience and safe lighting.
Working together on maintenance
The garden maintenance, the residents want to do themselves. The main reason for joint garden maintenance, is found in togetherness. Involving all residents, in garden maintenance, invites them to go outside. The garden is wheelchair-friendly.
Residents at the helm
Residents have always been at the helm themselves. It has become a beautiful greeting and meeting garden by and for residents.
