Proper ventilation prevents mould

Good ventilation is necessary for healthy air in your home. Even when it gets colder, it is important to keep ventilating well. Yet this often happens insufficiently. One in ten homes suffers from mould.
When we are at home, we produce a lot of moisture. Not only by breathing but also by cooking, washing or showering. If the moisture stays in the air, it can lead to mould. And that in turn causes health problems.
Good ventilation
Ventilation prevents moisture problems and ensures that polluted air is removed and fresh air enters. In old houses, ventilation happens naturally through seams and cracks. But in insulated houses, this does not happen. Here, different ventilation is needed. Therefore, leave vents open and, if present, never turn off mechanical ventilation.
What you can do yourself to prevent mould in your home is described in the brochure below. This will help you create a healthier climate in your home!
