The new residential building, a WoonST project, will accommodate 40 social rental flats, all with two bedrooms. The photos below show how construction progressed. On 22 February 2024, residents received the keys to their new flats.

Construction and completion

Thursday 23 March saw the official starting signal for the new-build project, given by Helmond municipality alderman Gaby van den Waardenburg, Dinant te Brinke of BAM Wonen and director-director Bas Sievers of Woonpartners. On 22 February 2024, residents received the keys to their new flat. The photos in the carousel below show how construction progressed, up to the key ceremony in February 2024.

WoonST-homes

The new-build project is a WoonST project. In 2021, the 13 housing corporations and 9 municipalities from the Stedelijk Gebied Eindhoven (SGE) joined forces and created a joint plan for a *standardised social housing project: WoonST. The aim: lower construction costs and a faster permit and construction process. Together, build more affordable, sustainable and social housing for tenants and reduce the tightness of the housing market. The 40 social flats are WoonST homes.

* Standardised home does not mean that all homes are the same, but that we work from a base where variations are possible.
