The building on the Matthijs Vermeulenstraat side will be on top of the existing City car park and has three storeys. There will be 37 flats here, all social housing. The building on the Watermolenwal side will have four floors on one side and six floors on the other. There will be 67 flats for middle-income earners.

For several years, we have been working together with the municipality to refurbish neighbourhood De Waart. All rental houses have now been renovated on the inside and fitted with new window frames or new paintwork on the outside. As a result, they fully meet today's requirements again. And they have been given a fresh look. Over the next few years, a lot of hard work will go into building new homes, refurbishing the public areas and connecting residents.

The project is located on Watermolenwal in the Inner City. The City Sports Hall and a number of existing flats will make way for 104 newly built flats. The existing underground car park under the City Sports Hall will be retained and renovated to provide parking for the new flats. Demolition and construction work is expected to start in mid-2024.

Site layout and stripping/ demolition of the City Sports Hall & flats will begin in the second half of 2024. Expected completion of the flats is in the first half of 2026. The schedule is subject to change and may change in the meantime.
